5th Annual Claws for a Cause to Benefit the UM Shore Emergency Center in Queenstown
Preparations are currently in full swing for the fifth annual “Claws for a Cause,” a crab feast to benefit equipment and technology needs at University of Maryland Shore Emergency Center at Queenstown.
The “Claws for a Cause” event will be held on Thursday, July 13 from 5:30 pm to 9 pm at Fisherman’s Crab Deck in Grasonville. Tickets are $90 in advance or $100 at the door and include all-you-can-eat steamed crabs as well as a buffet of fried chicken, pork barbeque and assorted sides. Raffle tickets will also be available for $10 at this year’s “Claws for a Cause” for chance to win one of three different prize packages including a “Backyard Barbeque”, “An Evening Out” and “Outdoor Living”.
Open since October, 2010, the UM Shore Emergency Center in Queenstown sees over 15,000 patients a year and provides care to members of the community in need of treatment for acute illnesses, injuries and trauma. Medical treatment at UM SEC at Queenstown is provided by board certified emergency medicine physicians, experienced nurses, radiology technicians and medical technologists.
Sponsorship opportunities are available at the following levels: Jumbo Blue Crab, $10,000; Extra Large Blue Crab, $5000; Large Blue Crab, $2500; Medium Blue Crab, $1000; Bushel Basket, $500 and Crab Pot, $150.
