Frequently Asked Questions

UM Memorial Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, and to provide financial support for additions, enhancements and upgrades to the property, equipment, centers, programs and services for the UM Shore Medical Center at Easton. The mission of the UM Memorial Hospital Foundation is to ensure and preserve the future of healthcare excellence and medical progress, financial integrity and local support needed to provide quality health care services that are comprehensive, accessible, and that address the needs of our community for years to come.

The Foundation supports the hospital’s centers, programs and services that directly benefit the patients and their families. Through your gifts and special events, such as our annual golf tournaments and annual appeals, the Foundation can continue to provide assistance to patients and families at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton—your local hospital.

As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, UM Shore Medical Center at Easton relies upon gifts and donations to support our programs, services and technology. The revenues we receive from patients and insurance payers do not cover the total cost of investing in the latest equipment and technology, recruiting new physicians, training staff, and updating facilities. Your donation supports centers, programs and services that directly help our patients and their families.

You may designate your gift to be used however you wish. The UM Memorial Hospital Foundation supports several centers, programs and services that require continuous support. If you do not designate how your gift is to be used, it will go to the area of greatest need as determined by the Foundation staff and Board of Trustees.

You can remember someone special by sending your gift and request to the UM Memorial Hospital Foundation office or online at our “Donate Now” link. Please provide an address so the Foundation may send the acknowledgement to the person being honored or to the family of the person who is remembered. A receipt letter will be mailed to you acknowledging that your gift was received.

Many community members include us in their estate plans. It is a way to make a gift that does not cost anything today, but will support the Foundation in the future.
