Bonnie Hilghman Cancer Fund golf tournament set Oct. 1

The annual Bonnie Hilghman Cancer Fund Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at Hog Neck Golf Course in Easton.

Tournament registration takes place at 8 a.m. Oct. 1, with a shotgun start at 9 a sildenafil tablets.m. The format will be Florida scramble, and the cost is $100 per player. Prizes include low gross and net, hole-in-one, closest to the pin on par threes and longest drive. Tournament costs include a buffet lunch, an award presentation and silent auction.

Proceeds from this year’s tournament will go to support University of Maryland Shore Regional Health’s Clark Comprehensive Breast Center in Easton, as well as the Wellness for Women program, a breast screening program that promotes early detection of breast cancer.

The foundation is seeking event sponsors for the tournament; gold sponsorship is available at $1,500; silver at $1,000; and hole sponsorships at $100.

Hilghman lost her seven-year battle with breast cancer in 2004. During four of those years, she received chemotherapy at UM Shore Regional Health’s Cancer Center in Easton.

Since 2005, the Bonnie Hilghman Cancer Fund has given more than $78,000 in grants to help residents of the Mid-Shore who are fighting cancer.

The mission of the Bonnie Hilghman Cancer Fund is to help nonprofit organizations, which provide services to cancer patients, including chemotherapy, necessary medications, transportation costs, child care, housekeeping or nursing care. Grants also have gone to support UM Shore Regional Health, the Regional Cancer Center and the Choptank Community Health System.
