Dr. Khalid Kurtom

Congratulations to Khalid Kurtom, MD, neurosurgeon with UM Community Medical Group – Neurosurgery, for being nationally recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review (www.beckershospitalreview.com) as one of 15 physicians under the age of 45 years old who have accomplished a lot early on in their careers.

The list, headlined as “15 young physicians to know” in the December edition of Becker’s Hospital Review, includes leaders of hospital departments, entrepreneurs and board members of professional and community organizations. Dr. Kurtom, who was one of only two Maryland physicians who were included, earned the honor for his focus on minimally invasive spine and brain surgery; his membership on the Board  of University of Maryland Community Medical Group (UM CMG); his chairmanship of two group committees focused on quality; and his recent selection as recipient of the UM Shore Regional Health’s Arthur B. Cecil, Jr. Award for Excellence.

Becker’s Hospital Review features up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems. Its content is geared toward high-level hospital leaders (CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CMOs, CIOs, etc.), and includes hospital and health system news as well as best practices and legal guidance specifically for these decision-makers. Each of the 12 annual issues of Becker’s Hospital Review reaches approximately 18,500 healthcare leaders.
