Order of the Eastern Star Makes Donation to the Cancer Center at UM Shore Regional Health

The generous members of the Grand Chapter of Maryland, Order of the Eastern Star have donated $2,582.63 to the University of Maryland Memorial Hospital Foundation to support the Cancer Center at UM Shore Regional Health.“Many of our members, or a loved one, have battled cancer and they know how difficult it is to deal with this disease,” comments Madge Jones, past grad matron, Grand Chapter of Maryland Order of the Eastern Star. “We want to support innovations in cancer treatment that will help patients on the Eastern Shore and throughout Maryland.”

The Order of the Eastern Star is an international, fraternal organization affiliated with the Masons. The Grand Chapter of Maryland is one of 63 geographic jurisdictions that comprise the Eastern Star worldwide with 39 chapters in Maryland, with six located on the Eastern Shore.
