The Respiratory Care Leadership team at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton recently recognized, Priscilla Berkey, RRT, respiratory therapist, as well as Amy Forrest, RN, and Judy Barrow, RN, from the Birthing Center as “Everyday Heroes” for their collaborative team effort to quickly achieve a positive outcome during a neonatal resuscitation.

“Assisting in the delivery of a newborn is one of the most stressful yet rewarding opportunities we have as a Respiratory Therapist,” says Wayne Dyott, RCP, Sr. Clinical Specialist, Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Services. “The collaborative efforts demonstrated by this team of professionals shows the positive impact we have on many lives every day, assuring a great patient experience.”

The Everyday Hero program provides patients, visitors and staff members with the opportunity to recognize and thank any member or team at UM Shore Regional Health, who made a positive difference in a visit or stay, by making a financial contribution of any size to  the Memorial Hospital Foundation or the UM Chester River Health Foundation. Funds received through the Everyday Hero program are used for equipment, capital improvements and staff education in the departments in which the employees or team work.
