The fourth annual fishing tournament and crab feast at Lowe’s Wharf raised $5,600 to to benefit the Peggy Rosato Fund for the Cancer Center at UM Shore Regional Health.

The Peggy Rosato Fund supports patient care at the Cancer Center.  The fund was started in memory of Peggy Rosato by Peggy’s loving husband, Dr. Ed Rosato, and friend Shelley Abbott. In Peggy’s spirit of love and hope, the fund helps cancer patients in times of crisis.

Funds donated to the Peggy Rosato Fund are allocated to assist patients being served by the Cancer Center who are in financial hardship with variety of expenses, including utility bills, transportation costs, dental care and other needs.

The annual Lowe’s Wharf tournament and crab feast was founded and continues to be organized by Theresa and Victor Micheal. The Micheals were inspired to help the Cancer Center when Theresa started her own serious bout with cancer. The Easton-based couple had a desire to help others who are faced with cancer related medical expenses. The Micheals have been assisted in their fundraising by good friends Edna and Kevin Barry who have supported their cause.

“We appreciate the continued efforts of the Micheal family and friends to help our cancer patients who are in need,” says F. Graham Lee, vice president of philanthropy for UM Shore Regional Health. “This highly successful event brings the community together to support our Cancer Center team as they help patients and their families navigate the financial challenges that cancer treatment can pose.”
